The GDFHTA58 outdoor loose-tube stranded optical-electrical hybrid cable with steel tape armor consists of single-mode or multi-mode optical fibers encased in loose tubes made from high-modulus PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) material. The loose tubes are filled with fiber gel. At the center of the cable core is a non-metallic strength member; for certain cable configurations, a layer of polyethylene (PE) is extruded over the metallic strength member. The loose tubes (along with filling strands) and power cables are twisted around the central strength member to form a compact, circular cable core. Inside the cable core, water-blocking yarns and water-blocking tapes are used to create a dry water-blocking layer. After longitudinal wrapping with plastic-coated aluminum tape, a polyethylene inner jacket is extruded. Finally, after double-sided chrome-plated and plastic-coated steel tape is longitudinally wrapped around the cable, a low-smoke, halogen-free, flame-retardant (LSZH) outer jacket is extruded to complete the cable assembly.
